Finishes Description

CLOSED-PORE STAINS: Dyes are dyes that allow you to give a color to the furniture while allowing a glimpse of the grain of the wood. Light shades highlight the color contrasts of the veins while darker ones tend to create greater homogeneity. The closed-pore effect is determined by the wood from which the furniture was produced. Low-porous woods such as tanganyika, linden, poplar, walnut or toulipier are smooth to the eye and to the touch. The colors can also be embellished with hand-drawn patinas (Versailles, Cognac) or pad-drawn (bassano) or small stains (poor art) for an antiquing effect. The antiquing is accentuated by a light tapping made by specific nailed rollers.
